Next up is the BIG moment! The bride’s entrance and the music she will be walking down the aisle to! Now I know most brides out there will choose the traditional wedding march and that is perfectly fine. These songs are for those that want just a little something different. Like me!

Again, I highly recommend practicing the timing of your song, especially if there is a particular lyric that you really want heard. We used “I Choose you” by Sara Bareilles (the acoustic version) and I had to have the line “I get to be the other half of you” heard. I just had to. And of course it was the near the end of the song. We rehearsed it several times and it was going to be a close call since we had a very short aisle.

Coincidentally, I have ZERO idea if that lyric was actually played or not because I couldn’t really hear the song, I was consumed with the overwhelming feeling of the eyes of all of my family and friends on me and my beautiful bride waiting at the other end for me. It’s an intense and almost indescribable feeling (queue in Aladdin music here). And Yes, you still get that feeling even with a first look! (But that’s a whole other topic for a whole different day). But anyways, I heard the lyric in my head and felt the energy we were going for and I know our guests felt it too and that’s all that matters.

You only need to pick 1 song but like always, I recommend having a backup. Just in case πŸ™‚

  1. Omg I’d never make it down the aisle–I’d be a sobering mess with most of these (totally beautiful!!) songs. I’m unfamiliar with that Sara Bareilles song though –will youtube it!

I love that marry me song, and happy ever after by Ben Harper is pretty perfect πŸ™‚ xoxo and thanks so much for stopping by so I could find your adorable home!

    1. Lol. Yes, definitely check out the Sara Bareilles song, specifically the acoustic version! So pretty! I heard it and instantly knew it would be absolutely perfect.

I’ll have to check out Happy Ever After, I’m not sure I’ve heard it! Thank you for the suggestion πŸ™‚

  2. #13 gets me every time. My husband and I don’t really have “a song,” because neither of us walked down the aisle at our ceremony, but if we did, that’d be it. I love it so much!

  3. Great list! I didn’t want the traditional wedding march either, but we had an organist, so we went with Simple Gifts instead. I’m all for choosing music that speaks to you!

  4. These are great songs. I hadn’t thought of a few of them. My sister in law is getting married this summer. I will share this with her.

  5. These are great songs on your list. I have always wondered what would make good songs. I chose a Green Day song for when I walked down the isle and my brother played it on his electric guitar. I love originality and thought. Put yourselves in your wedding, don’t go traditional for the whole time. Just my suggestion.

    1. Thank you! That’s awesome!! That’s a great suggestion! A wedding should be about the 2 people starting the rest of their lives together, it should absolutely reflect them, their personality and their style. If tradition is your thing, stick with the march if not, don’t feel obligated to walk down to that!

  6. Amazed by lonestar was what my old housemate wanted to walk up the aisle to! I love these song ideas for wedding entrances.

  7. Those are pretty songs! My dream song to walk down the aisle to would be an acoustic instrumental to Taylor Swift’s Mine. Kind of similar to the one from Glee πŸ™‚

  8. All the 13 songs on your list to use to walk down the aisle are really nice! The one I really like is Amazed by LoneStar. It was my husband and I first song we danced to.

  9. A Moment Like This – beautiful song. I love most of Kelly Clarksons songs.
You have a great little list of wedding songs there.

  10. Seriously GiGi cracks me up, with that said I will chose a song for my Porcelain Anniversary coz we did the traditional thing on the wedding day and then I asked for a song by Brenda Fassi for a change…its called “Its your wedding day” Check it out, real upbeat and fun πŸ™‚

  11. I like A Thousand Years by Christina Perry. If we had a a proper walk down the aisle at our wedding, we might have chosen this song! We did away with it because it is super cliche in my country, and we thought to go against convention by not having one.

  12. All of these songs are very romantic, it’s always nice to walk to slow songs that’s all about love! Great choices!
